Shiyu Zhao is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering at Westlake University and the Director of the Intelligent Unmanned Systems Laboratory. He received the BEng and MEng degrees from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Before he joined Westlake University, he was a Lecturer in Aerospace Systems in the Department of Automatic control at the University of Sheffield, UK.

His research interests lie in the theories of estimation, control, and reinforcement learning and their applications to intelligent robotic systems especially multi-robot systems and micro aerial vehicles. He has published more than 60 research papers in international journals including Nature Communications, IEEE Control Systems Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Robotics, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, and Automatica. He is currently as an Associate Editor for the journals of IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters and Unmanned Systems. He also serves as an Associate Editor for quite a few international conferences such as IEEE ICRA, IROS, CDC, ACC, ICCA, and ICUAS. He is a member of the IEEE Control Systems Society Conference Editorial Board Committee. He was the ICCA2018 UK Regional Chair and Program Chair of ICCA2019. His new textbook “Mathematical Foundations of Reinforcement Learning” will be jointly published by Tsinghua University Press and Springer Nature Press in 2024.

赵世钰目前为西湖大学工学院特聘研究员、博士生导师、智能无人系统实验室负责人。他本硕毕业于北京航空航天大学自动化学院,博士毕业于新加坡国立大学,加入西湖大学前为英国谢菲尔德大学自动控制与系统工程系Lecturer。他的研究领域为估计、控制、感知及其在智能机器人系统特别是多机器人集群和空中机器人中的应用。他已在控制与机器人领域的国际期刊和会议发表研究论文60余篇,代表性成果发表在国际顶级期刊包括Nature Communications、IEEE Control Systems Magazine、IEEE Transactions on Robotics、IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control、Automatica等顶级期刊。他是IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters和Unmanned Systems的Associate Editor,他也是多个国际会议的编委(包括IEEE ICRA, IROS, CDC, ACC, ICCA, ICUAS等)、IEEE Control Systems Society Conference Editorial Board Committee委员、集群智能与协同控制专委会委员。此外,他曾担任ICCA2018的英国区域主席和ICCA2019的程序委员会主席。他是科技创新2030—重大项目课题负责人。他曾获得领跑者5000——中国精品科技期刊顶尖论文、第33届中国控制会议关肇直奖、国家海外高层次人才引进计划青年项目。此外,他撰写的英文教材《Mathematical Foundations of Reinforcement Learning》将由清华大学出版社和Springer 出版社联合出版,配套的视频公开课受到了广泛的好评。
